Requirements:
This course is tailor-made for drivers in country areas who are required to spend a considerable part of their working life driving on dangerous unsealed (or dirt) roads. As vehicle control requires different techniques and appreciation of the difficulty of an unsealed surfaces, the course addresses variable surface driving such as mud, loose gravel, sand and corrugated roads. This is an extremely effective but intensive one day of training that caters for the experienced and novice driver..

Course Content:
- A comprehensive open forum that exposes many well worn motoring myths of driving on mud, sand and gravel where we are most vulnerable in our driving habits. The open forum is a time for discussion and theory on different adhesion levels and speed limitations on differing surfaces.
- Enlightening facts about tyre capabilities and the absolute necessity of understanding their limitations.
- Practical simulated emergencies in a controlled environment on varying surfaces.
You do the driving.
- Extensive correctional tuition in simulated emergencies in skid control/skid prevention/vehicle control (e.g oversteer and understeer).
- Further practical exercises to reveal grip limitations on varying surfaces
- Avoiding the unforseen dangers
- Explanations of vehicle dynamics and how they change according to the dirt surface.
- Negotiating undulating and windy roads.
- Retrieval of a bogged or stranded vehicle.
- Course certificate and information handout presentation.
- Question and answer time.
